Widely used for industrial flooring, platform walkways, stair treads, ramps, truck beds, trailer floors, and heavy machinery access areas. Also suitable for railway platforms, ship decks, construction sites, and mining equipment. The raised pattern provides excellent slip resistance, while carbon steel offers high strength and durability for heavy-load environments. Often painted or primed for corrosion protection in outdoor or semi-outdoor conditions.

Production description

The process begins with carbon steel slabs (grades Q195, Q235, Q345, etc.), which are reheated to 1150–1250°C. The slabs pass through a roughing mill and then a finishing mill equipped with specially patterned rolls to form raised designs (tear drop, diamond, or lentil). The pattern is embossed during the final hot rolling passes, creating a slip-resistant surface on one side while the reverse side remains flat. After rolling, the plate is cooled on a runout table, leveled, and optionally descaled by pickling to remove mill scale. For cold rolled checkered plates, pickled hot rolled coil is further cold rolled with patterned rolls to achieve thinner gauges (0.8–3.0mm). The plates are then cut to length, inspected for pattern uniformity, thickness tolerance, and mechanical properties, then packed for delivery. Surface can be as-rolled or pickled & oiled

For export, carbon steel checkered plates are interleaved with kraft paper or foam, packed on ISPM-15 certified wooden pallets, secured with steel straps, and fitted with edge protectors.
